ArtHop July 7

Thursday, July 7, 2016 - 5:00pm-8:00pm (ended)

ArtHop is a program of the Fresno Arts Council. It happens Downtown Fresno on the 1st Thursday of every month. We are an official ArtHop Venue, with changing art exhibits in The Commons. July 7 we will welcome the work of Karen Chambers: Chronology of a Quilter.

Karon Chambers has been quilting for more than 40 years. It was her love of fabric and color that drew her to the craft and it's the calming effect that she feels that keeps her going. Her first quilt (which will be on display) was hand pieced and quilted, with none of the straight edges and cutters that quilters now use. Karon taught herself how to applique and many quilt techniques as well and in the Heritage Quilters Guild she found the support and encouragement of fellow quilters. Quilting and hand work have taught her patience and a respect for the process of quilting.

You will also be able to enjoy live Irish folk music!

It's going to be fun here at M & Stanislaus - please join us!

We do this to engage with our community - to intersect with people where they like to hang out. Please consider joining this effort. Just participating in ArtHop downtown could be missional! Be a host/greeter in The Commons or on the sidewalk for either the 5-6:30 or 6:30-8 shift. We are looking for a few good men for the later shift each month.
