Ash Wednesday Service

We join Christians from many different denominations marking the begining Lent (40 days before Easter) with this special Wednesday evening service. It will include an “imposition of ashes.”  If you choose to come forward at this time, one of our pastors will make the sign of the cross with ashes on your forehead. It serves as a reminder of our mortality and sinfulness. We are reminded of the words God once said to Adam after he had sinned: “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Gen 3:19). This is the bad news of our sinfulness that prepares us to receive the good news of forgiveness in Christ.
