February ArtHop

The Commons @ FPC

Thursday, February 1, 2018 - 5:00pm-8:00pm (ended)

For February, our exhibition features the quilted works of Sharon Carter, Wanda J. Carter and Jimi Rodgers.

This exhibition represents the friendship of three women who began quilting together in 2002, following in the footsteps of their mothers or grandmothers who quilted in the home with scraps for utilitarian purposes. Today, our featured artists express their passion for this artform as part of two quilting guilds and while traveling to quilt shows across the United States where they collaborate on projects employing their love for African and Aboriginal fabrics.

ArtHop is a program of the Fresno Arts Council. It happens Downtown Fresno on the 1st Thursday of every month. We are an offical ArtHop Venue, with changing art exhibits in The Commons.

We do this to engage with our community - to intersect with people where they like to hang out. Please consider joining this effort. Just participating in ArtHop downtown could be missional! Be a host/greeter in The Commons or on the sidewalk for either the 5-6:30 or 6:30-8 shift. We are looking for a few good men for the later shift each month. Contact Terry Jaurena.
