Dear First Pres,

Did you know that in 2022 we added 44 new members to our church?!? It’s one of the many fun facts that’s included in our church’s 2022 Annual Report. Scroll down to download a digital copy of the report.

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

The kids are home. The house is full. The nights are late. And, I love it.

Yet, in the midst of all the activity, it’s easy to lose focus on why the kids are home and why the to-do list is so long. As Diane confessed on Sunday, in this season when we’re called to focus on the Advent of Jesus many of us have minds full of “check lists, shopping lists and groceries lists.”

Dear First Pres,

Never underestimate the power of a simple, heartfelt invitation.

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Advent is upon us. The word “advent” means arrival and can signify the beginning of something new. That’s certainly what happened when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. It was an arrival unlike any other – not only because of the events surrounding Jesus’ birth, but mainly because of who Jesus is. His birth was the beginning of God making all things new.

Dear First Pres,

   Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear First Pres,

   “Loving Neighbors”

Dear First Pres,

One of the greatest joys for any church leader is when a person says, “yes.”

Of course, we rejoice when a person says “yes” to the invitation to surrender her life to Jesus as her Savior and Lord. And we rejoice when a person says “yes” to stepping into active membership of our congregation, as 15 of your fellow congregants will do this coming Sunday.

But the particular “yes” I’m thinking about today is the “yes” of service.
