Dear First Pres,

One of the FPC highlights from the last few years has been the way we’ve been able to get out and serve our neighborhood the week before Easter.  Last year I had the privilege of serving with several folks at a yard in the Lowell neighborhood that needed a bit of TLC.  It was great!  I know that many of you share affection for the service and fellowship we’ve experienced through these projects during the last few years.

This year we are doing service projects again, but with a new twist. On the Saturday after Easter, April 26, we’re hoping to send several teams out to serve in neighborhoods all around the city.  But here’s the deal: we’re waiting for you to submit the projects.  Is there someone in your neighborhood who could use a hand?  Is there a school that could be cleaned?  Is there a church that could be supported?  Is there a park that could be spruced up?  And, we’re waiting for you to be the project coordinator; we need the folks of the church to be the project scouts, and then the project coordinators.

How cool would it be if there were projects all around the city that you initiated? It would be very cool!  You can send ideas for the projects to Elder Kim Lee via email (dandklee@comcast.net).  We’re calling it Saturday of Service, or S.O.S.  I hope you’ll find a way to participate.
