Dear First Pres,

Do you remember what you were doing in the summer of 1988? I know it was 26 years ago, but you all have such keen minds; you can remember.  I was getting ready for my sophomore year of high school. What were you doing?  If you were Susan Glover you'd be answering that in the summer of 1988 you were starting your new job as the Business Operations Manager at First Presbyterian Church, Fresno.  That's right, Susan has been serving our church in this vital staff role for 26 years.  Pretty amazing, huh? At the end of this month, Susan will be retiring.  Several years ago she started using a portion of her work hours to serve as one of our chaplains.  She'll be continuing in her chaplain role on a part-time basis (along with Rosemary Avery), but is retiring from her Operations role.

I know that many of you want to honor her for her faithful and excellent service to First Pres.  Thus, you are cordially invited to attend our retirement celebration for Susan happening during the education hour (9:40) this Sunday morning. You are welcome to bring cards or gifts to give directly to Susan.  And I hope you'll linger long enough to enjoy a short program happening midway through the hour. It'll be fun!

 Blessings,

P.S. I hope you are praying everyday about who the Lord would have you invite to Christmas Eve or one of our Christmas Sundays. There is joy to the world, and God has chosen us to share it.
