Dear First Pres,

Merry Christmas! I pray that you sensed the Lord’s presence with you yesterday in whatever way you celebrated the birth of Christ our holy, saving, everlasting King. He is such an incredibly generous gift to us.
So, as the Christmas spirit is lingering, I wanted to share with you how we’ve stewarded a very generous gift to our church. A few years ago we began receiving an incredibly generous gift from the estate of Jack and Evelyn Hoover. The Hoovers were longtime members of our congregation and they thoughtfully left a portion of their estate to FPC. Here’s how we distributed the funds: We gave $50K to our mission partners in Erseke, Albania to launch their rebuild of a dilapidated cheese factory (the building is now in use for ministry). We set aside $209K to kickstart our plan for solar electricity (panels should be going up in 2020). We gave significant gifts to Witnessing Ministries for Christ, Martin Park Ministries, The Center for Community Transformation, The Pink House Residents Conference Scholarship fund, and Hope Now for Youth that totaled $86K. And we even set aside $5K to help students in our college ministry attend the annual CCO Jubilee conference. Isn’t that awesome!?! Because of the Hoover’s generosity, we were able to bless the ministry of FPC and that of our ministry partners. This is one of the things I love about our church. We love to share our blessings with other ministries. When the Lord blesses our church with your generosity, we love to share that generosity with our ministry partners. It’s one of the ways we are working toward the redeeming transformation of our city and world.
May the Lord continue to bless us with His generosity so that we might share that generosity with others.

Blessings,
Jeremy
P.S. Christmas Eve was an awesome night of worship! Thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes or on the platform to make it such a warm and welcome gathering. I love Christmas Eve at FPC!
