Dear First Pres,

Last week Pastor Lana, Elders Kim Lee and Brian Roberts, and I had the great privilege of attending the Presbytery of the Pacific meeting at Centerpoint Community Church in Roseville, CA.  What a joy it is to be part of this Presbytery.  Yes, we span from Fairbanks, Alaska to San Diego, California, but together we share a great passion to advance the Gospel - holding each other up in prayer and accountability, co-laboring for the cause of Christ, and collaborating with each other to be vibrant expressions of God's Kingdom. I am always encouraged by the connectional nature of our denomination; thus, I came home encouraged by the work of God in our presbytery.

One of the things that encouraged me most was spending sometime with Pastor Troy Wilson.  You probably remember Troy, and his teammate Rev. David Noble, whoare working to plant an Evangelical Presbyterian Church in San Francisco.  Pastor Troy was here in August to begin what I hope will be an ongoing partnership with First Pres Fresno for the launch of this new church.  He is now officially a mission partner, as we have designated a small part of our mission giving to support this church planting effort.  However, we're dreaming that this partnership goes much deeper than financial support. I'm hoping it will be a transformational experience for us to walk with Pastor Troy and the launch of this brand new sister congregation.

That's why Troy will be with us again soon.  Next Saturday, February 22, Pastor Troy will be the speaker for our Men's Breakfast.  Guys, you're not going to want to miss this time to hear from Troy.  It starts at 7 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Please plan on being there as Troy encourages us, and we encourage him.  Troy will also be preaching during an upcoming worship service in March, but I'll give you more details about that next month.

I am so grateful to be part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. How cool is it that we're strategizing together about how to advance the Gospel from Fairbanks to San Diego?  It's absolutely cool!  So, may the Gospel be advanced among us.

Blessings,

 Jeremy
