Dear First Pres,

I’ve been really grateful this week for all of you who attended our worship/congregational meeting service on Sunday morning.  I know that it was a lot to take in, but you did it. Thank you!  I thought it was a great morning, and I’m already thinking about ways we could tweak it next year to make it better.  I especially appreciated the chance to laugh, pray, and dream together.  Thanks, also, for your feedback; the information you provided the Session about your small group discussion is hugely valuable as we discern the Lord’s will for our church.

If you missed it, or weren’t able to stick around for the entirety of the service, we spent time discussing this question: What is an idea that inspires you for the redeeming transformation of our city and world?  Before we processed the question, though, I preached from Matthew 5:13-16 (where Jesus tells the disciples that they are the salt of the earth and the light of the world). In the sermon, I encouraged us to be the Church that Christ has made us to be; I also shared some of my dreams for the future of FPC Fresno (listen to or download the message click here).

The next step for the Session will be to analyze your feedback, while listening together to the Holy Spirit, for the discernment of our few God-given, strategic, all-church initiatives. Please be praying that God will guide us all as we move forward in His future for our Church.

Blessings,

Jeremy
