This last week, Beth Paz, our Director of High School Ministries made an important announcement to our high school families (remember our high school ministry is called Rooted).
Here is the heart of the letter from Beth:
Greetings Church Fam,
I write to share with you a significant next step in my life - the end of my time on staff as the Director of High School Ministry.
Earlier this year I applied for a scholarship from Fuller Theological Seminary called the Parish Pulpit Fellowship, and amazingly, I was selected as a recipient! The nature of this post-graduate Fellowship is a fully-funded year abroad where I will grow in my understanding of the Global church, deepen my cross-cultural skills and hone my preaching abilities. I'm thrilled to have been given such an incredible opportunity and will head out in September (2019-2020)!
I will end my employment with FPC at the end of August, wrapping up 2.5 years of investing in Rooted youth and the outreach of our church. I will direct our summer programming by leading our summer staff and youth leaders, the Guatemala Service & Learning Trip, Hartland camp, events and swim studies.
Being on staff during this time has been an incredible place to finish my MDIV and grow in my pastoral calling. I've been so grateful to see even a bit of the fruit of investing into Rooted through our new room, our refreshed name and logo, revitalized partnerships, clarified mission strategy and values, and the growth of discipleship in individual students!! I will deeply miss the proximity and spiritual connection I've built with our youth- we have incredible students!
Beth has been a wonderful addition to our staff for these last few years. However, this is an opportunity that she simply cannot allow to slip away. I'm extremely excited for her as she continues to pursue the call of God on her life.
In the meantime, Pastor Chris (Beth's current supervisor) is facilitating a process of listening to key stakeholders in the ministry and presenting a proposal for the future ministry staffing structure to our Personnel team. Please join us in prayer for the Paz household, our great team of Rooted leaders, all of our high school students, and the future of Rooted. In Christ, the best is yet to come.
