Dear First Pres,

Last weekend, thirty-two of our elementary students went to winter camp at Sugar Pine along with five FPC cabin-counselors.  Looking at the camp picture, I felt like I went back in time to Where's Waldo...only this time it's "Where's Miss Margie?"  Can you find the FPC'ers in the picture?

So often we associate winter camp weather with snow, and they had a very little bit that quickly melted.  Not to worry; they also got rain...and hail...and they were thrilled by all of it.  Nothing was going to keep these kids from having a great time!  Superheroes played a prominent role in the weekend.  The kids learned that God is our superhero, the Holy Spirit is God's secret agent inside of us, and the sins that hold us back from being faithful to God are our kryptonite.  All that, plus an opportunity to say "yes" to giving their lives to Jesus.  One of the girls in our group did just that.  Praise God for new spiritual life among us!  As our kids talked about what they'd learned, and how they could take it down the mountain, one of them who had learned more about sharing the gospel with her friends, said, "I'm going to keep planting seeds."  May it be so among us, friends.

This Sunday we have the chance to support our Jr. and Sr. High students through a lunchtime fundraiser for their "seed planting" activities during Spring Break.  The Tri-Tip lunches come with all the fixin's, and are always excellently prepared by FPC's own team of chefs.  When you pick up your tri-tip, peek around the corner and thank them for serving the Lord with their gifts of hospitality.  Then dig into your lunch and enjoy it, knowing you've helped support our students in mission, service, and forming a deeper understanding of the Church.  What could be better!  You can sign up, click here.  (Our apologies former edition was without proper links.)

Speaking of planting gospel seeds, keep your eyes and calendar open for Sunday, April 19th.  On that day we'll host an outstanding seminar called Generation to Generation that will give parents (and grandparents) practical tools for passing the baton of faith to the next generation. Jim Burns of Azusa Pacific University will be presenting the seminar.  More information is on its way in the coming weeks.

If you haven't yet found a Discipleship Partner, it's not too late to get in on the blessing of sharing and growing together in Christ.  My partner is much younger than I am, which means there's going to be ice cream involved sooner or later.  That's an extra little bit of blessing right there!

The Lord Bless and Keep You,

  Lana Roberts
