Dear First Pres,

As expected, Fresno County moved back into the Purple Tier this week. I lament this on so many levels: for its impact on the physical, emotional, relational, and economic health of our community. God, have mercy.

How will we respond? We will continue to press on in the mission that God has given us to make disciples for the redeeming transformation of our city and world while doing our part to slow the spread of this virus.

Therefore, we are moving our ministry to Level 3. This means that smaller groups can meet inside, but larger groups will gather outside while observing all the normal safety protocols. You can see more detail about Level 3 on our website.

Here’s what that means for Sunday morning:

  • Worship: 9:00 am Livestream only; 10:45 am in-person outdoor worship service on the Patio.
  • Kids: Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary ministry will continue during the 10:45 am service.
  • RAP Bible Study on Zoom: continues at 9:00 am.

Other ministry during the week continues with modifications if necessary. Please check the website or look for communication from your ministry leader for specifics.

Like you, I wish we were past this pandemic. And yet, in the midst of it, are so many opportunities for us to share the hope we have in Christ. I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind those who could use an encouraging word from you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see those who are in need of Christ’s hope. Ask these things every day and I believe the Lord will use you to bless others.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy

P.S. Advent is coming. Next Sunday, November 29, is the first Sunday of Advent and everyone is going to need their own Advent candle wreath (doesn’t need to be anything special, you need five candles). We have an incredible, fun plan to lean into this season together. Look for details below.
