Dear First Pres,

On Sunday I told you about author Jennie Allen who began praying with her husband, "God, we will do anything." She writes about it in her book Anything: The Prayer that Unlocked My God and My Soul. She and her husband wanted to experience all of God's purposes for their lives; they didn't want to miss anything that God wanted to do in them. So, they started praying this "anything" prayer. The result was challenging, powerful, and fulfilling movement of God in their lives. Now, they are so grateful that the Lord stirred in them to start prayer, "God, we will do anything."

How about you? Are you willing to authentically pray that prayer? If not, what's holding you back? Are those things worth missing the new territory that God might have waiting for you?

I know there have been times in my life when saying those words to God (I will do anything, Lord) would have been far from authentic. But the more I understand about what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ, the more I believe this kind of prayer to be right at the heart of surrendering our lives to Christ and His mission. So, nearly every day, I ask God to forgive me for my lack of faith, and I invite the Holy Spirit to fill me with more faith - courageous faith for radical obedience.

May the Lord fill you with faith today - faith to do whatever He asks you to do.

Blessings,
