Be With Me: Experiencing Jesus in Prayer

An Intentional Journey to Deepen Your Relationship with the Divine

Week 3: Everyday Praise – Be With Me in Adoration

Preparation:

Song: “Life Defined with Spoken Word”

by Shane & Shane with Davy Flowers

Be my life. Oh I surrender. One day is better with you than all the world. Oh Spirit of life, help me remember that it is my pleasure to say to You that …

(Chorus) All I am my life defined, by I've been crucified with Christ. The life I live I live by faith in Jesus Christ who lives in me.

When my heart grows cold and my flesh is failing. The Spirit is willing to point me back to You. For to live is Christ and to die is better. Help me remember my song to You.

Chorus

Remember His atoning, His body broken for me. Remember His approval. He gave His life to say so. Remember His appealing, my Lord is interceding. Remember if you have breath to breathe it out and praise Him.

Chorus followed by Doxology and Spoken Word (lyrics unavailable)

Scripture: Praise God through Psalm 103.

Personal Practice:

Draw a type of tree or plant in your Prayer Journal – on the leaves or branches write out as many characteristics and names of God that you can think of! On a walk or a run this week, pick up a handful of leaves and as you go, release a leaf and praise God for a characteristic. By the end of your walk, you have left a literal trail of adoration and praise! What happens within you as you “create trails of praise” to God in your heart and mind?

Group Prayer:

Brainstorm a list of names and characteristics for God, then praise and adore God. Can you spend a whole session adoring God and not imploring? Use Scripture to prompt your praises if you struggle.
