Hello! My name is Ben Spain. I am in 12th grade and in the Rooted High school group. Recently, during this season of shelter in place, the way rooted has been meeting is different. We have met virtually on Instagram Live, Zoom, or on our Discord server. Here is some of my favorite things Rooted has been doing to connect with us students during these past months

During Summer we meet every Wednesday on Instagram Live. Currently we are 5 weeks into our “Biblical Justice” study. Recently we have been focused on how we are not alone in our questions about faith, the Church, and God.

Around 7:45 when our Instagram meeting is over we head onto zoom. During our Zoom session we answer questions based on what we heard from our speaker on Instagram. Then after that we "gather up" and play a game with everyone who is done with the questions. Meagan screen shares fun games for us all to play. That part, of course, can get a little chaotic with all the people who are unmuted.

Our Rooted Discord server has been a great way for us to connect and hang out with each other any day of the week. On Discord we are able to message, voice chat, and screen share. This has allowed us to play all kinds of games with each other. My favorites have been when JR has hosted “Jackbox”.

The online events for Rooted help me feel connected to the church in these wild times.
