Recently I received news from India that Witnessing Ministries of Christ (WMC) just received the FPC bus. How is it there's an FPC bus in India? Our Session voted in December to give over $20,000 from the final distribution of the Jack and Evelyn Hoover Estate to WMC to buy a bus to transport children from their villages to school.

This, to me, is more than just a bus. Jeremy and Gary have been taking us through the gospel of Mark and the parables that Jesus taught. I can testify that this bus really is one of Jesus' parables come to life. When

they received the bus it was like the parable of the seeds. They received it with pure joy. They were praising God and praying over every inch of the bus. It will be the seed landing on good soil. This bus will bring between 30 to  60 kids to school every day.

It also quite literally represents the verse where Jesus says to bring the little children to Him. The bus will bring the children to school where they will receive the love of Jesus and then take them back to their villages where they, in turn, will share the love of Jesus with others. The bus traveling through rural India is a big yellow lamp of Jesus that is not hidden under a bushel.

Finally, it is representative of one of the five loaves and in feeding the 5,000. God will use this one bus to spiritually feed 1,000 villagers daily by His love and provision for the children.

Church, our God is truly great! The Hoovers obediently gave funds from their estate to FPC. Session obediently put it to work in God's Kingdom and WMC bought the bus. God took what we offered and now 1,000 or more untouchables in India are hearing the Gospel and feeling God's love. And by the way, WMC needs at least 10 more buses. So when God talks to you please be obedient.

Curious how else we invested the gifts from the Hoover Estate? Here's the list:

  • Crossroads Camp in Erseke, Albania (used to begin renovation on the building that was formerly a cheese factory)
  • Center for Community Transformation at Fresno Pacific University
  • Martin Park Ministries
  • Assistance for Pink House staff & interns to attend Christian Community Development Association conferences
  • Assistance for FPC college students to attend CCO's Jubilee conferences
  • Hope Now For Youth
  • Support for an EPC church plant in Port Orchard (connected to Chapel Hill)
  • Love offering for Hanford Presbyterian Church (Their pastor suffered a major heart attack and recovery is slow. They are assisting the family.)
  • The Solar project here at FPC
