Dear First Pres,

I took a walk today during the lunch hour and it was windy. It reminded me of my college days in Nebraska where it always seemed to be windy. But here, in the Valley, a windy day seems rare. It got me thinking about my favorite Keith Green song, "Rushing Wind." Have you heard it? Keith sings, "Rushing wind blow through this temple, blowing out the dust within. Come and breathe your breath upon me; I've been born again."

Dear Friends,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Today is the first of four very special days in the life of the church: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday. I encourage you to take some special time each day in prayer and worship to focus your heart on the incredibly good news of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. One of the special ways you can do that is by participating with your church family in worship and prayer.

Dear First Pres,

For the past few weeks, I’ve been including some of the great content we heard from Rev. Ken Priddy during the Church Vitality Weekend in my sermons. I’m doing this because I don’t want us to forget the stuff we heard. Plus, I’m trying to share that great stuff with many of our folks who couldn’t join us for the weekend seminar.

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

I love the prayer in this morning’s Seek God for the City 2016 prayer guide.  After the reading from Deuteronomy 30:19-20, the prayer reads like this:

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Wednesday, February 10, is the beginning of Lent. We will start the Lenten season with an Ash Wednesday service at 7pm. I very much encourage you to join with your church in this special and unique worship service. It is a powerful experience that helps to set our hearts right with God in this season of return, repentance, and renewal.

Dear First Pres,
