April 6 ArtHop

Thursday, April 6, 2017 - 5:00pm-8:00pm (ended)

April's ArtHop features Stations of the Cross, a current day artist's representation of an ancient spriritual devotional that offers witness to Jesus' Passion & Death which we celebrate at Easter.

Stations of the Cross graphics by Portland artist Scott Ericson will be on display for your enjoyment and reflection. The Stations of the Cross began as practice of pilgrims going to Jerusalem who would retrace the final journey of Jesus to the hill where he was crucified. For the many who wanted to pass along the same rout, but couldn't make the trip to Jerusalem, a practice developed that eventually took the form of the Stations of the Cross that you can find in many churches today.

The Youth group of Hope Now Bible Church will be selling Hot Dogs, Chips & Soda, to raise funds for their spring trip.

It's going to be fun here at M & Stanislaus - please join us!

ArtHop is a program of the Fresno Arts Council. It happens Downtown Fresno on the 1st Thursday of every month. We are an official ArtHop Venue, with changing art exhibits in The Commons.

We do this to engage with our community - to intersect with people where they like to hang out. Please consider joining this effort. Just participating in ArtHop downtown could be missional! Be a host/greeter in The Commons or on the sidewalk for either the 5-6:30 or 6:30-8 shift. We are looking for a few good men for the later shift each month. Contact Terry Jaurena.
