Rooted High School Ministry

WELCOME to ROOTED - Where high school students experience loving community and grow deeply rooted in a relationship with Jesus, in order to bear Gospel fruitfulness for a lifetime.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7

Our Philosophy

Rooted youth group welcomes you to join us at any event or activity! Our team exists to come alongside high schoolers and provide a safe space for their development in a positive community. We focus on building a fun and safe community in which to dive into Bible Study and its practical application to our lives (including diving into the hard stuff!), service and love for others, and moving our whole lives towards alignment with the heart of God. Our prayer is for every student to feel God’s love and find a place tobelong at Rooted!

Our H-3 discipleship strategy consistently asks students to apply biblical teaching to their whole life.

Head- what truth did I discover?
Heart- what attitude needs adjustment?
Hands- what action will I take?

Parent Information

Equipping and supporting High School parents is important to us. We know that parents are the primary influence on their youth and we are here to partner with you! Seasonal newsletters are sent out to encourage parents, and inform them of upcoming events and activities.

We invite you to tangibly support our ministry (food/host/pray/drive) once a semester for a more effective ministry!

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday morning from 10-10:45am (between 1st and 2nd service), we hang out together at "Cafe Bonfire" in the Rooted Room. We just catch up, drink coffee, play ping-pong, and usually eat lots of donuts. It's super casual - we'd love for your student to come! It's a great place to meet people and get connected if you are new.

Sunday Nights

On Sunday Nights we host weekly Youth Group in person 6-7:30PM on the FPC Campus (downstairs in the Rooted Room). We enjoy playing ping-pong and group games before jumping into our weekly Bible Study lesson. Our Bible Study Series this year is "Dive Deep". Come join us as we watch The Chosen TV Series and talk about it together. We pray students will come to know that they are uniquely pursued by the Holy Spirit to dive deep into their relationships with God, and that Jesus is a real person that they get to experience and live life alongside. Check out what The Chosen is all about.

After Youth Group, we have an optional "After-Party" from 7:30-8:30pm. We carpool to a hang-out spot that has food (usually Ampersand near FHS, or In-N-Out on Blackstone & Aslan). On the way there, we ask the students text their parents where to pick them up at by 8:30pm. Bringing about $5 for food is suggested.

Rooted D-Groups

Discipleship Groups are small groups of 5-7 students that meet weekly either on Sunday morning or during the week, led by two Youth Leaders. The goal is to create a passion for Jesus in the students beyond casual participation and invite them to actively pursue deeper and tough topics within community. These groups are designed for students to have deeper relationships within the youth group and cultivate a space that invites belonging, sharing, prayer, accountability and deeper relationship with God. We hope to equip them with the tools to succeed and grow into rooted Christ followers.

Contact Sophia to sign up and she'll get you plugged in!
