The Pink House

Invest 10 months in the Pink House (Aug - June)  and watch your life transform. This is a discipleship & service opportunity, rooted in the heart of our city, where you live in intentional community, seek to understand biblical justice, and invest in your own leadership development. The program is a life-changing experience exploring the whole Gospel, challenging and equipping you to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly” so that you live restoratively. You will engage issues with local and national leaders, volunteer in the community, participate in the life of the church, and much more.

What Is It?

This program is an intensive and intentional time of exploration and growth centered around three key values:
  • Biblical Justice
  • Intentional Community
  • Leadership Development
We will ask you to invest time to read, study, reflect, listen, and pray. We will ask you to learn by doing as a volunteer with community partners or in church ministries. We will introduce you to Biblical, practical Christian Community Development (CCD) principles evolved from years of living and working among the poor. We will ask you to let God expand your worldview, your mind, your heart, and your dreams.

Weekly classes will introduce you to local leaders and CCD practitioners. You will attend two national conferences and two ministry house retreats. We will provide other perspectives through which to view our city and it's issues, opportunities to more deeply know yourself and others, and a mentor with whom you can process your experiences.

All this will require 15-20 hours a week for a weekly class, weekly preparation and study, regular community service, relationship builiding with housemates and meetings with your mentor. You will need to make time for the weekend retreats, the national conferences, and local excursions and workshops.

It will not be easy, and it will be worth it!

Why Would I Apply? | How do I Apply?

"During my 10-month Pink house experience, I grew in my faith, experienced and learned new ways in which I could better serve my community. I was challenged to dive deep into social, economic and racial issues affecting families to this day. I learned what it meant to live in community with other people coming from different backgrounds. I am grateful that I was able to share my story and let my community walk alongside me in my healing process. It was not an easy journey but it was worth it for my personal growth."

Rocio Claros 17-18 Alum

"The pink house has been an incredible experience.  The things you learn about biblical justice, community, and how to draw nearer to Christ has been life changing.  I have made lifelong friendships and opened new opportunities to love my city as Jesus does.  Most importantly, I love Jesus more because of the Pink House and its curriculum."
