Dear First Pres,

FPC’s Eat Downtown is one of my favorite events. It combines three things I love: eating out, FPC folks, and downtown Fresno. That’s why I’m particularly excited about this Sunday. Instead of going to your house and figuring out what to prepare in the midst of a summer heat wave, why not show some love to one of our local restaurants?

Here’s the scoop: FPC Fresno is a church in the heart of the city with a heart for the city. We’ve chosen to stay downtown because we want to be part of what God is doing in downtown Fresno. One way we can do that is to generously support those who own and operate community-building businesses in our neighborhood.
We’re also a church community that loves to eat together. Good things happen when we share fellowship around food. It’s one of the best ways for us to connect and build each other up in Christ.

So, this Sunday, after both services, we’ll send out a wave of joy-filled and generous-tipping FPC folks to restaurants & coffee shops near our church. We have several folks ready to host at particular restaurants (you can see the list of hosts & places below), and they’d love to have you as part of their group. But if none of those places catches your fancy, you can always grab a few other folks and head to your restaurant of choice.
Here are your marching orders:

  1. Treat your servers with kindness
  2. Learn something new about those you sit with
  3. Tell someone at the restaurant about what we’re doing and why
  4. Take a picture of your group and send it to me by text (559-348-3064) or email (jvaccaro@fpcfresno.org).
  5. Give a generous tip at the end of the meal.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
