Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

It’s time for Super Sunday! Yes, of course, there is a famous football game happening in the afternoon, but I’m talking about something of much greater importance. I’m talking about our Annual Congregational Meeting.

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

This is the final week of our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Last week, I confessed that I wasn’t feeling focused in my prayers and that I needed to identify a few areas to relentlessly lift up before the Lord in the midst of my fasting. Today, I want to invite you to join me in three particular prayers. Would you use these last four days of this special season of prayer to focus with me on these three requests? When the local church agrees together in prayer, it is powerful in so many ways. Would you agree with me in these particular prayers

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

We’re in the thick of it, aren’t we? This latest variant of COVID-19 is swiftly sending our world into a swirl again. And, it’s hitting close to home. There have been more positive or suspected cases in our congregation than at any other time in the pandemic. And, I’m hearing from many of you the negative impact it’s having on your organizations and families. Yes, we’re in the thick of it.

Dear First Pres,

2022. Have you become accustomed to writing these numbers yet? It always takes me a bit of time to reorient to the new year. Getting the numbers right when I’m dating a document is just one of the signs of that transition.

It’s one of the reasons I’ve come to really appreciate our church’s liturgy of the new year. First of all, there is the Lord’s Supper on that first Sunday of the year. It’s a wonderful way to begin each month, but especially the first month of the year.

Dear First Pres,

“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; Wait for the LORD!” -Psalm 27:14
