  We had a wonderful weekend as a church.

   First, the large group of kids and adults (nearly 100) who went to the Santa Cruz Retreat had an incredible experience together. God made Himself known in powerful ways in the beauty of His creation, the corporate worship, the times of prayer, the preached Word, and the joy of fellowship. Praise God! Look for an article in the coming days that share some of the testimonies of the weekend.

   This Sunday we're launching a new Education Hour class: Discipleship Group Primer. It's a bit different than our traditional Education Hour offerings, but I hope this letter will give you the information you need.

It was a great launch back into our normal schedule this past Sunday. Thanks again for all your flexibility over the summer. I appreciate the way our folks who normally sit in the balcony were willing to sit on the main floor. And I appreciate our second service folks who came for worship at 10:15. And I appreciate all those who worked to make Connect Time a success.

   Two items of good news today:

   First, yesterday Pastor Andrew Brunson, for whom we've been praying while he spent the last two years in a Turkish prison because of false charges, has been moved to house arrest. This is a great step. Praise God! Now Andrew can be with his family and friends as he awaits his next hearing. However, we still need to pray for the Turkish government to drop the charges so that Pastor Andrew can continue in his ministry.
