Dear First Pres,

It was truly a blessed Easter celebration. I’m so grateful for all the folks who were part of making it happen: musicians, sound techs, screen techs, camera techs, ushers, greeters (even in the parking lot), hospitality coordinators, photographers, custodians, office staff, goodie bakers, and hundreds of First Pres hosts who welcomed well their fellow congregants. Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!

So, now that Easter is done, what’s next?

I’m so glad you asked. My simple answer is this: a lot.

Today is another one of those days that I mainly want to encourage you to scroll all the way through the announcements below this letter. Take a moment to consider each one. And while you’re scrolling through, take a moment to consider another question. What’s next for you?

Easter was a glorious celebration, but Sundays are never meant to simply be one hit wonders. What’s your next step? How is the Lord calling you to more deeply step into His lavish grace and resurrection power?

Maybe it is to join an upcoming gathering. Maybe it’s to step into some kind of service or ministry. Maybe it’s to make a more significant financial commitment to our general fund. Maybe it’s to invite again the person who showed some interest in your Easter invitation but couldn’t make it. Maybe it’s to participate in our upcoming Exploring Membership class. Maybe it’s to take on a new spiritual discipline. Maybe it’s finally getting help with your addiction. Maybe it’s to expand your Growth Group. Maybe it’s to join a Growth Group. Or maybe it’s simply to come back to worship in our Sanctuary this coming Sunday.

Whatever it is, be reminded that God is inviting you more deeply into His grace, more deeply into His love and more deeply into His goodness. He’s not crossing His arms and tapping His foot waiting for you to finally get your act together. He’s inviting you to know Him more by taking a step of faith.

There’s much on the church calendar in the coming weeks, but what’s next for you?

Blessings,

Jeremy
