Dear First Pres,

A few weeks ago we launched the FPC Home Improvement Drive. If you didn’t receive a letter in the mail about this important drive, please let us know. We’re working to raise $650K above and beyond our normal offering for the sake of tending to some much needed updates and maintenance on our campus.

Taking care of our campus is part of what it means to be good stewards of the gift that it is. For most of us, it was other FPCers who paid to buy the property and build the buildings. Many of you were here to help pay for the redesign of the Sanctuary completed in 2009, but many of us were not (like me). So now it’s our privilege, in this season, to partner together in stewarding our church campus for the Kingdom to come in Fresno as it is in heaven.

I was so encouraged by the generosity of our church leadership board, the Session, to launch the drive. From the 16 households represented, $99,250 was pledged to be given between now and the end of 2023 for the drive. Remember, these are pledges of money to be given above and beyond our regular giving. I praise God for the way He stirred the Session members to give joyfully and sacrificially.

Now, I encourage all of you to prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you give. Every pledge matters. It matters in helping us reach our financial goal. But, even more, it matters because it connects you directly with the joy of stewarding God’s abundance to us for the sake of the mission He’s given us.

But I’ve heard about a little confusion. The FPC Home Improvement Drive is running all the way through the end of NEXT year; that’s 2023. We’re asking folks to make a pledge that can be given over the entire 13 months. So, Diane and I have made a pledge (part of the Session total) that included two parts. It included a special end-of-year donation. And then, starting in January, we’ve budgeted a monthly donation (above our tithe) to fulfill the rest of our pledge. Does that make sense?

Some of you have already given a special donation, but it didn’t include a pledge for 2023. If that’s you, thank you so much for your participation. Now, would you please consider also making a pledge for 2023?

If you haven’t pledged yet, please prayerfully consider how the Lord would have you give. Our goal is to have 100% participation. You can mail in the pledge card that was included in the mailing or you can fill out a pledge card online. May the Lord be honored in the way that we steward His gracious gifts.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
