Dear First Pres,

Have you heard about the first time, top quality, visitor friendly conference that we are putting on in March? It’s called Work Matters, and I’m thrilled about it. Here’s why:

  1. Our work really does matter. God created us to work. He created us to be productive for the good of our society. Work is meant to be good. But because of our brokenness, we so often make the things that are supposed to be good things into god things. We allow work to define our identity; we allow work to control us. And, like all things that we put in that spot that aren’t the true, righteous God, we eventually begin to resent work or even hate work because it can’t give us what our souls really need. But in Christ there is redemption for our work and our attitudes about work (whether paid or unpaid). The Work Matters Conference is meant to help us live in Christ's redemption for work.
  2. This conference has primarily been organized by a team of non-staff leaders in our congregation. They’ve been meeting for months to make this conference a top notch experience for all who attend. They’ve recruited speakers and contributors from many different backgrounds. They’ve prayed that God would use the conference to help believers and unbelievers see God’s vision for their work. I’m so proud of the work they’ve put in.

Here’s the bottom line: it’s going to be a great conference. But the only way for you to experience that, is for you to be there. And the best way for you to support your fellow First Pressers is for you to be there. So, I hope you’ll come, and I hope you’ll invite your friends.
The conference is just a few weeks away - March 20 - 21. Get more information at the Work Matters Website. Or register here via MyFPC.

Blessings,
Jeremy
P.S. If you haven’t grabbed a Seek God for the City prayer guide or downloaded the app, I hope you’ll do so. Join with fellow FPCers and other believers around the world as we pray in unison this Lenten season.
