Dear First Pres,

I woke up this morning still encouraged about how our first run of WednesdayNights@FPC turned out.  Not only was it well attended, but God worked among us in powerful ways. I know firsthand that men’s lives were impacted, but I know secondhand that women were encouraged in their walk with the Lord and are now more deeply connected. I saw kids growing in relationship with each other and their leaders while learning the truths of who God is.  I saw teens laughing, worshipping, meeting, and praying with one another. And I experienced some wonderful connections during dinner with all kinds of different folks.  It really was a terrific time.  Now, I’m praying that the Lord sprouts new growth and fruitfulness among us because of what we experienced together.

Our leadership team has decided to do it again in 2016. Starting Wednesday, January 20 and continuing through March 16, we will enjoy WednesdayNights@FPC again.  The plan is to continue with the same general format: dinner, followed by specific ministry groups (children, youth, women, and men).  There’ll be more specifics details coming, so keep your eyes and ears open for that.  You’ll hear me say this many times, but I hope everyone (that means everyone) will seriously (that means prayerfully) consider either serving or participating in WednesdayNights@FPC.  It’s one of the ways that God is growing our church deep and wide.

This Sunday, the one we call Thanksgiving Sunday, is a special day of worship for us. We will be receiving new members (always fun), and we will be bringing a special offering. Please remember to bring with you several food items to support our food giveaways happening this winter. You can see a list of ideas in the details highlighted below in this edition of our FPC Weekly. On Sunday, please just bring them right up front when you arrive. Your offering will be a great reminder of all the generosity that God has shown to us.

Blessings,

P.S. For the last several days, God has put a certain song on my heart. He’s been using it to minister to me. The song is called Good Good Father written by Pat Barrett and Anthony Brown.  Recently, Chris Tomlin has recorded and released the song.  I encourage you to experience the song by watching this video ; I believe God is using this song in big ways to help us know His heart and our identity as His beloved children.
